Day 1-3: Depending on how much time you have, give your students at least 2-3 days to read through the introduction and task and to complete steps 1 and 2 on the process page. during step 2 (for each team to pick a state to research) i printed out and cut up the 50 states and had each team pick out a strip of paper that had 3 of the 50 states on it along with the capital. I then gave them the option to choose one of the cities and states that way they could take ownership of their project. You could just have them choose any city or state that would be up to you on how you would like them to do that. Students then filled out the weather research page. I had each team come up with a team name and write it down on the research paper. Here is an example of a research paper after it was completed:
Days 4-6: For step 3, give students at least 3 days to move into their expert groups to complete their research for their specific job. (I had all of the papers printed out before hand but you could have students type onto the documents and save them if preferred) Here is an example of one of the 7-Day weather forecasters research page:
Days 7-10: once you get to step 4, give students about 3-4 days to complete. THe first day, i had students get back into their groups and read through the descriptions then get an idea of what they were going to start on for the next day. I then gave them about two days to complete their rough drafts. Here is an example of a completed rough draft:
Days 11-12: for step 5, have students work with their home teams to create a story board for their power point presentation. Below is an example of a completed story board:
Days 13-16: For step 6, give students at least 3 days to work on their power point presentations in class (I gave them 4 but if they weren't done after that they needed to work on it outside of class to get it completed). I created a template for them to get started and then let them be creative with the design and animations. Click below to look at a few examples of completed presentations:

Days 17-20: If you have time to take a few days after students complete their presentations then have them present. (I ended up running out of time and had a couple teams do presentations a day until all had presented)
